IES 2005

2nd Announcement and Call-for-Papers

11th International

Ionospheric Effects Symposium

May 3-5, 2005

http://www.ies2005.com

Venue: In Historic Alexandria, Virginia at the

Radisson Hotel on the Potomac

Program Structure:

The structure of the IES2005 Symposium will follow the pattern established over the years, as it seems to work fairly well. The symposium is a 3-day event. The initial session will consist of the opening ceremony and keynote address, followed by a number of papers having general interest. Subsequently, the papers will be organized within a series of parallel sessions to accommodate both the number of anticipated papers and a provision for more intimate (focussed) discussion of the papers. Some special features of IES2005 include a poster session, and an awards luncheon for “best papers”. The keynote and luncheon speakers will be announced shortly. Unlike many topical conferences, IES maintains an emphasis on documentation of proceedings. A preprint document, containing full papers is provided to registrants at the conference venue. Hardbound and CD copies of the final proceedings are provided to registrants following the event. An opportunity to package the “Best of IES” papers as a special issue in Radio Science (or other relevant journals) is typically afforded.
